Early detection of orthopaedic abnormalities in puppies
Every dog owner wants their four-legged friend to grow up healthy and be able to move freely. However, not all orthopaedic problems are recognizable at first glance. Many joint diseases such as hip dysplasia (HD) or elbow dysplasia (ED) develop gradually – the first signs are often so subtle that they are not noticeable in everyday life.
LupoMove Puppy is a scientific study by orthoVET that addresses precisely this issue. With the help of LupoGait’s objective gait analysis, precise movement data is recorded in order to recognize at an early stage whether a puppy’s movement is developing healthily or whether there are abnormalities that require targeted support.

Why is this important?

How does the study work?
LupoMove Puppy is a long-term study by orthoVET that investigates how the gait of puppies develops in the first few months of life.
How is it measured?
- Puppies are fitted with special IMU sensors from the 10th week of life
- These sensors record stride lengths, joint angles, symmetry of movement and load displacements
- The measurements are repeated regularly to document individual developmental processes
